Blender 5.0: Revolutionary & Free 3D Creation is Now Available!
Okay, here’s a transcription of the provided video content, followed by a rewritten blog post based on that content:
Video Transcription:
“Yes! Now we can create better virtual worlds, movies, avatars for videoconferencing, you name it. Why? Because the new version of Blender, the popular 3D modeling program, 5.0 is now here. And it can now do so much more.
Now, you can already do all the stuff that you see here if you “buy” 3ds Max. Yes, it really says “buy” 3ds Max. But, you’ll find that there is nothing to buy here, you are subscribing for $255 per month, and after you stop paying, you get nothing. Hooray! So no, don’t do that, use Blender instead because one, it is completely free for all of us, you can own it, and two, over the years it has become an absolute powerhouse.
Well, first, have a look at the quality of movies that you can create with this system. These are eye-poppingly beautiful scenes, all done with a free tool available right now for all of us. What a time to be alive!
Now, here are 10 amazing things that it can do. One, when you want to place not just one tree, but a bunch of them, this looks a bit unnatural. But if you use scatter on surface. That makes it super easy to distribute these objects in a way that looks natural.
Two, Cycles, their ray tracing engine has something incredible called adaptive subdivision. This automatically adds geometric detail to objects as we get closer with our camera. You can get super high resolution surfaces, and only render them when absolutely necessary. This feature is not experimental anymore, but now is a production feature. Oh baby.
Three, metal shaders can now use thin film interference. This is where tiny surface layers make light waves create these shifting rainbow colors. Wow. And with this, you can get really advanced tempered and anodized metal models.
Four, when you render a smoke plume with proper ray tracing technique, you get fewer artifacts. And you see that it always starts out from a noisy image, which cleans up over time, and now it does it faster. And this is also an unbiased algorithm, finally, which means…”
Unleash Your Creativity: Why the Latest Blender Update is a Game-Changer
The world of 3D creation has just received a major upgrade, and the best part? It’s completely free! The latest version of Blender is here, empowering artists, designers, and creators with unprecedented capabilities to build stunning virtual worlds, movies, avatars, and more. Forget expensive subscription models that leave you with nothing to show for your investment. Blender offers a powerful, feature-rich platform that you can truly own, and it’s only getting better.
For years, Blender has been steadily evolving into an absolute powerhouse, rivaling even the most expensive industry-standard software. The breathtaking visuals that can be achieved with Blender are a testament to its capabilities. We are talking about eye-poppingly beautiful scenes that can be rendered with a tool accessible to everyone.
Let’s dive into some of the most exciting new features that make this update a must-have for anyone involved in 3D creation:
1. Natural Object Distribution with Scatter on Surface
Creating realistic environments often requires populating scenes with numerous objects, like trees in a forest. Manually placing each object can result in an unnatural, repetitive look. The new “scatter on surface” feature solves this problem by allowing you to easily distribute objects across a surface in a way that mimics natural patterns. This intuitive tool breathes life into your environments, making them more immersive and believable.
2. Adaptive Subdivision in Cycles: High Resolution Rendering, Optimized
Cycles, Blender’s powerful ray-tracing engine, introduces adaptive subdivision, a game-changing feature for achieving incredible detail without sacrificing performance. As the camera gets closer to an object, the software automatically adds geometric detail, resulting in super-high-resolution surfaces exactly where you need them. Crucially, this detail is only rendered when absolutely necessary, significantly reducing render times and resource usage. Best of all, adaptive subdivision is no longer an experimental feature – it’s ready for full production use.
3. Realistic Metal Shaders with Thin Film Interference
Creating convincing metal materials has always been a challenge in 3D rendering. The latest version introduces thin film interference to its metal shaders, opening up a new realm of realism. This effect simulates the interaction of light waves with thin surface layers, creating shifting rainbow colors that are characteristic of tempered and anodized metals. You can now create truly advanced and visually stunning metal models with unparalleled accuracy.
4. Improved Smoke Simulation with Ray Tracing
Rendering realistic smoke plumes is notoriously difficult, often resulting in artifacts and noise. This update significantly improves smoke simulation with ray tracing techniques. The rendering process starts with a noisy image, but it cleans up much faster than before, revealing a smoother, more detailed smoke plume. The introduction of an unbiased algorithm ensures greater accuracy and realism in your smoke simulations.
Beyond these four highlighted features, stay tuned for information about the additional 6 features that take this release to the next level.
Blender is more than just a free alternative to expensive software; it’s a powerful, versatile tool that empowers creators to bring their visions to life. The latest update further solidifies Blender’s position as a leading force in the 3D creation industry, offering unparalleled features, performance, and accessibility. It’s time to ditch the restrictive subscriptions and embrace the freedom of Blender.

2 things i love blender + 2 min papers video this one is mint!
Blender has always been great at creating things people seem to look down on it because it is free
Don't forget to contribute to Blender development!!
Good to see a video on this channel that is not something related to AI bullshit.
BRO YOU ARE HUNGARIAN🤯🤯🤯🤯🤯??
VÉGRE EGY MAGYAR
Anybody please do the same to GIMP 😀
yes wow, such shiny new features. let me know when blender becomes useable for basic 3d modeling work.
for my needs as an indie game developer this quite impressive battleship is hella awkward and doesn't let creativity flow. i wish the devs would put some focus toward getting the basics right. what a time to be alive :p 😇❤
I've been wanting to get back into Blender for a while now. Been distracted with the AI stuff, but now I'm coming back. Real time Hair. Oh Yeah.
time to leave 2.79?
I remember to play with Blender when I was 12 years old and now I'm 30!
When blender can integrate with genie 6/7 and veo 6/7. We will literally have single creator, studio-quality animated movies and video games.

Blender is truly amazing. It's crazy how many new features they've implemented in recent years.
Blender keeps upgradeing so fast… i was still using 4.5 like … 2 months ago?
Love the indian accent
when i started my journey into 3d graphics back in the 90s playing with povray, watching simple scenes take a full day to render, if you had told me that we'd have something half as powerful as blender, paid or free, i would have called you a liar. It's just so amazing what the blender team and the community has done.
just letting you all know, intel chips no longer work for mac's that they need the new M series to keep up.
Good lucky everyone.
In 2011, I used Maya 3D to build a model of the Atlanta High Museum, I placed my artwork in the virtual walls, and made a video of how my art would look to me on the walls of the High.
I now use FREE Blender to modify my model. What a time to be alive. ~3K
I really need to get back into playing around in Blender. I accidently deleted all my old projects when I turned an old PC into a server. I had hundreds of procedural textures I created but I can always make them again.
I never through that subdivision surface would leave the experimental. What a time to be alive.
I love the visuals, but would really appreciate a deeper dive into how and why these things work. Two hundred minute papers?
Guys, please. Blender needs to keep going so donate donate donate.
I cant wait until blender gets a digital audio workstation
Because of corporate greed and their invasive spying, our only choice left is open source.
using 4.5 actually but yeah from time to time they really made it great!
My two favorite things, Blender and Two Minute Papers. What a time to be alive indeed!
This was a promotional video to demolish the VFX and animation giant 3Ds Max. Although a lot of money was spent on advertising Blender, if you don't know, it crashes and is powerless in large scenes.
I use Blender for building my game assets. Geometry nodes combined with modifiers unlocks a new level of non-destructive workflow I’ve never had with Blender. One thing I wish it had, is a sort of cache that prevents recalculating all modifiers to speed things up.
BLENDER IS AWESOME!!!!
Don’t use Blender for free. Work deserves payment. Have some honor, people.
gosh what a terrible voice
What a time to use Blender 5!
