Gemini 3 Pro testing is unbelievable, and World Models are BACK! [AI NEWS]

Exciting Developments in AI: World Labs’ RTFM

Happy Friday, everyone! Welcome back to the Matt Vidpro AI YouTube channel. Today, we’ve got a treasure trove of AI news and advancements lined up for you, paving the way for exciting developments in the industry as we move further into the year.

Introducing RTFM: A Real-Time Frame Model

Let’s dive right in with our first highlight from World Labs—RTFM, which stands for Real-Time Frame Model. This innovative system operates as a world model, akin to what we have seen with earlier technologies but with notable improvements. One of the standout features of RTFM is its efficiency; it demands less computational power while generating frames in real-time as you engage with the model.

Interactive Experience

Interaction with RTFM takes place through control dials, allowing you to navigate and explore the environment much like in a video game. This engaging setup provides users with a unique opportunity to experiment with the technology, and you can even try a free demo that’s available online. A link to the demo can be found in the description below.

Limitations and Comparisons

Now, is RTFM as advanced as others currently available on the market? While the technology is impressive, it does have some limitations compared to other models. For instance, the range of movement within the virtual environment is restricted. This means that while you can manipulate a dynamic interactive 3D environment, it might not possess the same level of depth as its competitors.

The fascinating aspect of RTFM is that it constructs this interactive 3D environment frame by frame in real-time—a process that almost feels like it is creating a “hallucinated reality” just for you to explore.

How It Works

World Labs describes RTFM as a “learned renderer.” It utilizes an autoregressive diffusion transformer trained end-to-end using large-scale video data. Through this training, it learns to mimic various aspects of 3D representation such as geometry, reflections, shadows, and other features simply by observing them in its training dataset.

Efficiency Considerations

While it’s true that RTFM is designed to be efficient, it’s important to clarify that this efficiency is relative to larger companies equipped with substantial resources. It requires a single H100 GPU to operate, which means that consumer hardware is still not at a point where it can effectively run this model.

Get Involved!

As I noted earlier, you can experience this cutting-edge technology directly through your browser today. It truly is a remarkable platform to explore the possibilities of AI-generated environments. Whether you’re a tech enthusiast or simply curious, I highly encourage checking out the demo for yourself!

In conclusion, the advancements in AI continue to reshape our interaction with technology, and RTFM by World Labs presents an exciting leap in this direction. Stay tuned for more updates as we cover additional AI news and developments in the weeks to come!

  1. Well, looking back how first a.i generated photos looked like and how they look now, also videos can look stunning compared to it's beggining few years ago, it's just matter of time when we'll get similar outputs with this real time 3d worlds tech. What concerns is the power required to run this properly. I mean, h100 is like 35 000 USD dollars. They really need to start focus on optimizing these things but as with everything, i'm sure it will come in next 10 years.

  2. A few months ago I did notice a decrease in intelligence, attention, and instruction following from Gemini 2.5 Pro.
It used to be able to follow quite complex instructions and had a very long context, but now it misses what I'm asking, limits the conversation length and also generates images that I didn't ask for.

  3. So they found the cartel's route, what of it? That information is only useful to a rival cartel. The police are with them for security, so why bother searching for them?

  4. Keep in mind that LLMs are getting better and better at Space Invaders because there are absolutely tons of Space Invader clones to learn from. LLMs can't do anything truly novel; everything is variations on a theme because they don't learn continuously. They are still terrible for use with obscure programming languages, or large, legacy code bases.
