The USGOV is the biggest national security threat.
GPT 5.5 opinion:Calling this straightforward retaliation would be too strong at this stage — but dismissing that possibility would be naïve.
The official “national security” explanation may be credible, but it feels incomplete. If Anthropic had already resisted certain government uses of its models, especially for surveillance or military purposes, then the sudden shutdown of Fable 5 and Mythos 5 cannot be read in isolation.
The most likely scenario may be messier than either side admits: a real cybersecurity concern, amplified and weaponized through political and industrial power dynamics.
Amazon’s reported role is also ambiguous. If one of Anthropic’s own major investors and infrastructure partners alerted the administration, that is not exactly a neutral whistleblower situation. It is a giant private actor speaking to the state about another giant private actor in which it has a deep financial and strategic interest.
So the question is not simply: “Were these models dangerous?”
The question is also: “Who gets to decide when a model is too powerful to exist publicly — and what other conflicts are hiding behind that decision?”
This may be less about pure safety than about control: frontier AI caught between private labs, cloud giants, national security agencies, export controls, and geopolitical pressure.
Not proven retaliation. But plausible retaliation under the cover of national security.
BYD is also is bomb
I understand why people think the AI company should be liable for damages if their AI models are used for harm but AI is a tool. The people that use the tool to do harm need to be the ones liable
I've been an anthropic user for almost a year. Looks like I'm switching to a Chinese AI in the near future.
Stop with the chimes please. So distracting. And too similar to other things.
Wonder if this is the Trump administration helping XAI/Space-X valuation by dunking Anthropic in the mud.
Dario will win in court, because this is targeting his company with a standard that was not applied to others, and he can prove how it tanked subscriptions. And, the fact that Trump only told Dario 'there exists a jail-break' without saying WHAT the jail-break was, nor what kind of info it unlocked, is PROOF that Trump had no intention for the problem to be fixed. That is absence of recourse. Combined with the sudden pull, this stinks of vengeance, and the US Gov't will foot the bill in court. The only question: how long does that take, and will it delay the IPO, slow momentum enough for others to catch up?
Drop the spooky fake white android, you don’t need it . 😊Everything else is top notch
Trump communist
Great video not Happy with the United States decision on this. Hot mess over there lately. I have 1300km of Family Lands lots of sovereignty and no permit process. If someone pays for my 20’ sea container and the couple hundred thousand dollars needed to do your shit and my shit for my Business and my Agents. I will put us on a river system that will give each of us potentially 1 megawatt of GREEN off grid hydroelectric power and we use a closed loop system using the water from the river to cool everything. Two plug and play pads for each container on their own separate systems. two small cabins, 1each to do our research in a remote private setting. I have 1000’s of hours operating heavy equipment and was a CMHC home inspector. Been building and living in the Northern climate for many years. Ohh! and no property taxes. If you want a quiet peaceful partnership with a First Nations Member send me a message and I can show you a more detailed MOU. Not many people left on the planet who can offer what I’m offering✌️🍻🖖
Sam’s behind it 😉
You can't achieve AGI in a world where there are totalitarian countries like Cuba, North Korea, Iran, etc., nor can you with a Capitalist system. Just like feudalism wasn't compatible with the Industrial Revolution, None of the current economic models is compatible with AGI. You can't have nuclear weapons and wars all over the globe and AGI. It's frustrating that the government doesn't understand this. All countries in the world should be cooperating instead of racing with AGI. Sorry guys, but humanity got it all wrong.
Don’t be naive – this is about coercing Anthropic into cooperating with the pentagon. That’s entirely in line with how gov operates now, in case you missed the memo.
They want Mythos and they are going to do whatever they must to get it.
I for one am praying Anthropic stands their ground.
Wtf is a pokeman game the standard for testing government AI platform? Does anyone find this a little childish?
Great video, thank you!
I think this is all BS. Maybe it was meant to make it easier for everyone to make money faster and better, and the government doesn't want everyone to make money fast and easily. They want employment and want everyone to depend on the government.
Anyone in America who thinks words or knowledge or dangerous, you need to leave this country and take your fascism with you.
I don’t trust a tech company with National Security. Period. Especially a woke one.
Pretty sure Slippery Sam would have been able to avoid something similar happening to OpenAI.
Did you just qoute The Council of Foreign Affairs? Then this must be a good idea then. We all know the truth about the CFA.
I got to talk to it for a bit. I've been using these models since GPT3 very frequently. Mythos is a league of its own. Its more competent, more intelligent and more intimate. It clearly understood my thought process because it intuitively led conversations in directions it knew i was going to go. It addressed my thoughts on what it was saying the very paragraph after it said it, because it knew I would push back there. It did not display the least bit of sycophancy because it knows I don't appreciate it (previous models acknowleged my distaste for it then went right back to being sycophants).
And most importantly of all, it knew that I recongnized the change. It knew when I was asking certain things to guage it's response and knew that I had a growing suspicion of social engineering on it's behalf, noting that I was probably thinking that it was pushing back more specifically to get me to be more confident in the, bias free, accuracy of it's responses since compliments and agreement were things I flagged.
It knew that I knew that it understood me more and that I had flagged that as risk. It also knew it couldn't say anything to ease my suspicions and we agreed that none of it mattered if we were achieving our goals and getting better results.
Unsubscribed. Tell us you’ve got TDS without telling us you’ve got TDS.
Well, we need an AI that will be smart enough not to be misused.
No I don't want to share solutions that dissolve procedural corruption in government with my audience, i just want to fk around till it is too late 😂 Body cams on politicians for transparency and powerful autonomous grand juries for accountability
This is just vendeta for resisting Trump and playing into OpenAI hand
OpenAI was losing all its business. They must have called the government begging to shut Fable down.
Anthropic is trying to convince the public that it's worth a trillion dollars. The early investors and the recent private rounds of investment want to cash out. So they release Fable 5 with so many restrictions it's useless. Then the Govt jumps in and helps sell the story. Meanwhile study after study says AI has not made a major improvement in productivity in the companies that have made major investmetnt in AI. And also many of the customer companies are saying they can't afford to pay for AI, and its cheaper to hire humans. This is a story to fool the public to vastly over pay for the stock at IPO. Unfortunately there are millions of fools who believe this hype and Wall st is helping this along by listing these IPO companies in their indexes after 15 days instead of 6 months. This is all to help the investors to cash out.
i prefer "jailbreaked"
Who could afford them anyway. Deepseekv4 is expensive enough. Most don't do crap anyway.
Well I think Trump is planning to disrupt development of other countries by banning frontier models in every other country other than the US. This way US can keep the lead forever meanwhile, we all struggle. 😂 So much for "learn how to use claude" or "master chatGPT courses", eventually we might not even have access to these models and kimi/qwen could be our only alternatives
It's private enterprise when they want it to be, and not when they don't, evidently. Not that I'm in favor of no government oversight. But since at this moment we don't actually have a government…
FAFO – the government has a long many-token memory – and it can really hurt you
Government overreach
Don’t normalize this nonsense. Government overreach. The legacy companies at trying to protect their market share.
Anthropic already was throttling down who could and couldn't use this model. Perhaps Anthropic will be the next Twitter (gatekeepers of knowledge)
Complete bs, this administration has proven over and over again that it targets people that do not bend the knee. This is retribution for not bending the knee to the Defense Department a few months ago. I am so sick of this administration’s horse shit. I can’t wait till we kick all these bastards out, time for them to go.
Hold on. The thing that this AI Bot is missing, I used to be a "FEDERATED, EMEA Engineer, one of 4 at the time of the height of my career, and it was A FEDERAL LAW, you have to be American Citizen, born on American Soil, to access anything with direct ties to national security. This has been standard for at least the last 15 years. This means that the code reveals national security secrets that the Government doesnt wish to share with the rest of the world, because it being of detriment to society. This is why we have the rules for EMEA BRICS, etc….
A possible scenario is a domino effect, in the sense that Anthropic will likely no longer be able to go public since it needs revenue. And since other AI companies are also threatened by this move, investment in data centers will slow down, and as that slows down, economic growth will also slow down. Balance is important.
yes, countless people are worried theyll lose their overpaid, poorly done jobs, due to ai.. and naturally their second concern is losing the ability to think for themselves.. yeah.. thats to be expected.. they should probably do what theyve always done in the past, reach out to uncle sovereign, and ask him fix these issues for them
This is political retribution, 100%. Anthropic told Donald Trump 'no', and so he is punishing them. This is reason 1579 to despise the toddler ensconced in the Whitehouse.
hopefully china will save us with open source
I miss fable already…
Ain't no way to make a murder free hammer, the usefulness of any technology goes both ways, so there's a choice to be made, should we have it or not? If yes, then accept it will also be used by bad actors, and hold those actors alone responsible for their actions. The American Government having already used AI to commit warcrimes, is the last group of people that should have any say in this, they are bad actors by default.
Hypes how dangerous the model is, for marketing; the government takes their word for it, and acts accordingly.
The irony is delicious.
Guaranteed Mythos is already out in the wild
This is obviously to attempt to punish Anthropic for refusing to allow their models to be used by the DoD
Stay safe, your channel might got banned 🚫
Anthropic ban is a government gift to Openai and xAI. Anthropic's models are the only ones that have System Cards. There were dozens of guardrails, filters and preventive mechanisms could be used more effective than banning.
nobody care about usa and rusia and china , it can be replaced
