Stop taking the doom trolls seriously.
Scaling pretraining gave us a bump, then each successive iteration led to diminishing returns.
Then Chain of thought was the holy grail and gave us a bump before hitting diminishing returns (and over spending thought tokens became an issue).
Then RL was the new frontier.

Every new exciting idea gives us a substantial but modest bump, but never leads to compounding gains.
RSI will be no different. It will remove hardware/kernal inefficiencies, lead to better harnessing behind the API and maybe solve some things around context rot and large token windows. That’s it. Nice little bump, a few annoyances gone, then diminishing returns after that.
There is no compounding effect with any of these new ideas. They all follow a logarithmic curve. Assuming that the next new idea is going to change that is wishful thinking.

The crazy thing is that investors who buy into these technical predictions of AGI also think that the existing economic system and rules about shareholding and property ownership are going to survive the transition to humans not being the most intelligent life form on the planet and machines becoming sentient and developing their own agenda.
Not even remotely. LLMs are a dead-end – they will NEVER get us to AGI, let alone ASI. The technology is tapped out – there's no more data to train them on, synthetic data leads to model collapse, hallucinations mean they are not trustworthy. LLMs don't understand their inputs or their outputs – they don't reason, they have no agency, they are not conscious and they are not every going to be.
Is AGI possible? Maybe – but not with this technology.

AI companies talkng about AI, or rather selling/marketing? It's biggest scam of all times. You got compute power to do predictions and we have a finite internet data, everything is vectors. AI cannot fucking outperform itself by this data because there's nothing in here. Dont fall for the hype and also think the cost of this prediction machine. It ruining our air, water, soil.
