To be fair, I didn't know free model got an "update" because… I deleted Claude off my device's, since Fable 5 come out because I had feeling it was to "rushed" to mean anything.

on Claude Code the auto-routing to Opus is a toggle setting, you can turn it off..
will check out "too dumb" tag thing but honestly seems like a joke way of routing simple tasks, or chunks of tasks, to smaller models (just like Opus routes to Sonnet or Haiku) EXACTLY TO SAVE TOKENS in the first place.

Vilify them for being cautious and for having to jump through dumb hoops the government forces them to jump through. Just because you can't figure out how to use this model without triggering its guardrails doesn't mean they're trying to getcha. This is by far the best model ever released and it is nothing short of exceptional. Saved money through its efficiency. Does far more than any other model and I've used them all, and it's dead simple to use it efficiently AND well within budget even for massive jobs. Haters are clueless, and that includes this channel's creator, which surprised me as I've been a longtime fan. The emperor has no clothes.
