Notably, the iOS App Store experienced an even more impressive 80% growth in new releases.

April 2026 has further demonstrated this upswing, showing a staggering 104% increase in app releases across both platforms compared to the same period last year, with iOS leading at an 89% growth rate.
Apple’s Senior Vice President of Worldwide Marketing, Greg “Joz” Joswiak, humorously remarked that rumors regarding the demise of the App Store in the age of AI “may have been greatly exaggerated.”
