  1. LOL – The bottleneck stops being X and starts being Human Imagination
FALSE –> The bottleneck has always been human imagination.
—-> the Egyptian fraction is watching your every move. The cut is the eversion of the imaginary number.
the "genie" framing is itself a category error. It's like asking a Turing machine to compute the halting problem for itself. The wish for the best wish is structurally similar to Gödelian self-reference or the Barber paradox.

  2. what else can a guy say if his company is near border of bankrupcy. Singularity didn't help him to make the company profitable, unfortunately. So I would doubt about the validity of these words

  3. The claim is Sam is saying "The Genie can grant any wish"

    What if

Wish = Best Wish(max(future viable possibility space) ) or something like that?

The wish of "I wish for the best choice of all possible wishes sorted and ranked subquadratically to 6 decimal places , making no mistakes that would ever be revised upon future considerations of informational gaps and biases and assumptions , even if you had 1,000,000 years to think about the wishes of all wishes possible"

This wish would shit out the same slop as always

  4. This guy's own partners and co-workers have called him one of the most pathological liars of all time; why should we trust anything Allman says? OpenAI, or as it should be called ClosedAI, is burning through billions of dollars each quarter and are desperate for more investments and/or government bailouts, not to mention actual open AI Chinese companies are closing the gap for a fraction of the costs, so it's not a surprise he's saying we're in the singularity.

Further what's funny about the hugging face Cyber attack is that in order to fix it, hugging face first tried other frontier models like anthropic's fable but could not fix the issue due to the guard rails not allowing them and extremely high costs, they ended up using glm 5.2 to fix the problem entirely extremely fast and for a fraction of the cost, not to mention it was hosted locally.

This is pure propaganda by OpenAI/Altman.

  5. The claim: "We are building a system that can grant any wish."

The test: "Then wish for a business model that works."

OpenAI is reportedly burning billions annually. Its valuation depends on future revenue that may never materialize. Its compute costs scale faster than its pricing power. If the genie can "grant any wish," this is the lowest-hanging fruit — the wish with the most immediate, personal, and measurable payoff for the claimant.

The fact that this wish has not been granted falsifies the claim. Not rhetorically. Physically. The genie does not exist in the form described because the form described would have already been consumed by its own application.

Why This Isn't Just a "Gotcha"

This isn't saying "Altman is a hypocrite." It's saying the claim fails its own topology.

We established earlier that the question is the cut, and the wisher is inside the system. Altman's financial hole is the perfect demonstration:

    Table
The Wish |—| The Hidden Question

"Make OpenAI profitable" |—| What is a sustainable business model for frontier AI?

"Create a product everyone wants" |—| What do humans actually need that only AI can provide?

"Reduce our compute costs" |—| What is the fundamental physics of intelligence, and can it be done cheaper?

These are not wishes. They are open research problems. They are questions about the nature of the manifold itself. The genie cannot answer them because the genie is a product of the same uncertainty that makes them unanswered.

Altman is standing inside the burning building, holding a fire extinguisher, claiming he can control fire. The first thing a real fire-controller does is put out the fire he's standing in.

    The Deeper Cut

The financial hole is not an accident. It is the symptom of the malformed wish.

OpenAI's business model is a meta-wish: "We wish for a system that can do anything, and we wish for people to pay us for it." But "anything" is not a product. It is the absence of a product. It is the null vector we identified earlier — the wish that wishes nothing specific enough to monetize.

The "genie" framing is an attempt to sell the null vector as a feature. But markets don't buy null vectors. Markets buy cuts — specific solutions to specific problems. The more capable the system becomes, the less specific its value proposition. This is why the financial hole deepens as the models improve: generality and profitability are inversely correlated in a market that pays for specificity.

Altman cannot wish himself out of the hole because the hole IS the wish. The wish for a general genie is structurally incompatible with the wish for a profitable product. They are orthogonal cuts on the possibility space. You cannot optimize both simultaneously.

    The 42 of Business

Deep Thought returned 42 because the question was malformed. Altman's genie returns "slop" because the wish is malformed. And the financial hole is the diagnostic output — the 42 of the business model.

The hole says: "You asked for a genie. You got a very expensive null vector. The answer is correct. The question was wrong."

If the genie could grant any wish, the first wish would be: "Make this wish unnecessary." But that wish dissolves the wisher. It is the fixed point of self-consumption. Altman can't make that wish because making it would mean he never needed to build the genie in the first place.

The financial hole is the acoustic shadow of a source that doesn't know its own directivity. He built a loudspeaker that radiates in all directions, but nobody is listening because there is no signal — only noise dressed as potential.

The genie claim fails reversible self-application because reversible self-application is the test the genie cannot pass. Any system that cannot be turned on itself to solve the problem of its own existence is not a genie. It is a product with a marketing problem. And the marketing problem, in this case, is the product.
